Raised in Muskegon, Michigan, John graduated from Calvin University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation and in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Since 2011, John has worked in emergency medicine. He began as an EMT, transitioned to the role of a paramedic, and then spent 5 years working as an emergency and trauma nurse at a level II trauma center. To date, John thoroughly enjoys serving as a nurse practitioner in a local emergency department. Additionally, John has been a certified instructor for the American Heart Association for 10+ years. He brings over a decade of first hand knowledge and experience in emergency response.

Raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Lauren graduated from Calvin University with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2012 and in 2020 from Wayne State University with a Master’s degree in Advanced Public Health Nursing. She is passionate about community-based nursing, as well as nursing education. She currently serves as an affiliate professor of nursing at a local university. For Every Second Counts, Lauren establishes partnerships, coordinates details, and devises client-specific mock emergency scenarios to enhance learning experiences.
